Undergraduate Teaching Assistant
As an undergraduate TA, I developed and taught two one-hour recitation lectures and held two to three hours of office hours every week. I was also responsible for designing and grading over 500 exams per academic semester over traditional differential equations topics such as the harmonic oscillator, predator-prey population dynamics, and Laplace transforms.
Across five academic semesters, I received an anomalous overall effectiveness score of 4.98/5.00 with three academic semesters resulting in a 5.00/5.00 overall effectiveness score.
Selected anonymous student comments are shown below:
"Sebastian is honestly the best TA I have ever had. I can't emphasize enough how great he is at this - everything seemed easy to understand with him. 11/10 TA, would take again" - Fall 2016
"Love this guy. If I could have a clone of him with knowledge of all my classes and have him be my TA for those classes I'd ace my classes no problem" - Fall 2017
"Literally the best math TA to ever grace Georgia Tech's campus. Sebastian is by far the best TA I've ever had or heard of" - Spring 2018
"Sebastian is the best TA that I've had for any class. He's comparable to my professors in his understanding of the material being taught and his ability to teach. A great TA and would be a great professor" - Fall 2018
"I LOVE SEBASTIAN! Hands down best TA I've ever had. By far the best TA (or even professor) I have ever had in my entire life, and I don't see anyone coming close. I hope he continues as an educator after grad school! He will make an excellent professor one day" - Spring 2019
For my efforts, I have received several distinctions including:
Georgia Tech Undergraduate Teaching Assistant of the Year
School of Mathematics Undergraduate Teaching Assistant of the Year
